Bayonne
The City of Bayonne is a peninsula on the southern edge of New Jersey’s Gold Coast and is home to over 65,000 people. Bayonne is on the “cusp of a real estate renaissance” (New York Post) with new rental units and businesses frequently popping up all over the city. The revamped military ocean terminal is home to an ever expanding shopping center and Cape Liberty Cruise Port, while commercial corridors such as Broadway provides storefront options where small businesses can thrive. With four rail stops along the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, Bayonne provides quick and easy access to Manhattan, making it an enticing place for anyone to live, work, and play.
East Newark
Home to the world famous Tops Diner, the small borough of 3,000 residents has a strong sense of community pride. The largest area of occupation in the borough is in construction and production industries, with roughly 23% of residents employed in the fields. This provides a skilled workforce for any hands on industry that might look to call the Borough home.
Guttenberg
Bordering New York City and West New York is the small town of Guttenberg. Guttenberg is located along the Hudson River and is home to roughly 11,500 people. Although the population may be small, the town highlights Hudson County’s range of diversity. 81% of Guttenberg’s residents speak a language other than English, making the town rich in culture and as well as providing a multilingual workforce fluent in Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, and Portuguese, among other languages.
Harrison
Harrison, once referred to as the “Beehive of Industry,” has recently undergone a residential renewal. Harrison still retains its industrial and manufacturing roots, but with an influx of residential spaces and retail sites, the service industry is making strides in the quaint community. In addition to service and industrial opportunities, Harrison is also home to Red Bull Arena, the New York Red Bulls’ premier soccer stadium that provides ample entertainment and fun that business owners can share with their networks.
Hoboken
Don’t let Hoboken’s size fool you! This mile square metropolis is bustling with activity and is home to a wide array of bars, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Businesses here have no problem attracting a customer base as young workers and families alike call Hoboken home. Immaculate city views and direct access to the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, NJ Transit, and PATH trains, NY Waterway ferry, and an extensive bus system make Hoboken an ideal location for any business venture. Hoboken is also home to Stevens Institute of Technology, which provides the area with young talent in STEM disciplines.
Jersey City
Jersey City is a city that has been undergoing a major transformation in the past few years. Downtown Jersey City has been bursting with new businesses and real estate developments suited for a wide variety of industries. The Harborside Financial District has seen an influx of job growth as well as the recently completed New Jersey City University School of Business steps from the light rail. These business developments coupled with the robust arts, culture, and entertainment offerings of the city makes Jersey City a wonderful place for your business to call home. Jersey City is also home to Hudson County Community College and Saint Peter’s University, providing a young, educated workforce for a variety of fields.
Kearny
With a keen focus on quality of life and excellent housing stock, Kearny is becoming an attractive place to live and do business. Kearny offers easy access to major highways, freight rail and the Passaic River, making it an ideal location for commercial and industrial businesses. For retail businesses, a portion of Kearny is part of an Urban Enterprise Zone. In addition to other benefits to encourage employment within the Zone, shoppers at eligible merchants can take advantage of a reduced sales tax rate.
North Bergen
North Bergen is a great location for business. Just ask the many businesses that call the Township home! North Bergen boasts extensive retail centers on Bergenline and Tonnelle Avenues as well as near Transfer Station. In addition to retail, major corporations such as The Vitamin Shoppe, Liz Claiborne, and Hudson News all have headquarters here. There are also 5 intermodal freight transport facilities within the Township allowing for seamless mobility of goods.
Secaucus
While the most suburban of Hudson County’s municipalities, Secaucus also features portions of town dedicated to light manufacturing, retail, transportation and office uses. Secaucus’ wide variety of road and rail transportation options make it an ideal location for businesses of all kind. For the retail sector, the Town offers the downtown Secaucus Plaza area off of Route 3 as well as the Harmon Cove Outlet Center, Mill Creek Mall, and Harmon Meadow Plaza.
Union City
Union City’s diversity makes the city like none other. America’s most densely populated city, Union City has a dynamic, multilingual workforce with international ties. Formerly serving as “the embroidery capital of the United States,” Union City was also the first location where the ever famous Mallomars were sold. Today, Union City’s Bergenline Avenue is a booming thoroughfare for retail including improved sidewalks, landscaping and street lights.
Weehawken
Recently named the hottest real estate market in the State by NJ.com, the Township of Weehawken offers a thriving retail district along Park Avenue as well as robust office and apartment developments lining the Hudson River. The New Jersey entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel is located in Weehawken.
West New York
West New York is one of the most densely populated municipalities in the United States. The Town is the perfect place to shop with its “Havana on the Hudson” section of Bergenline Avenue providing the perfect destination for new stores and restaurants. Situated along the Hudson River, West New York provides an ideal location along the Gold Coast for business.
