LOAN PROGRAM IN ACTION: THE PERFECT PRESCRIPTION
The Hudson County Economic Development Corporation recently facilitated a small business loan for Wise Vision & Hearing of Hoboken. The $60,000 loan, provided in partnership with Bayonne Community Bank, will assist Wise in expanding their business here in Hudson County.

$70,000 LOAN FOR BEYOND BASIC LEARNING
The Hudson County Economic Development Corporation and TD North Bank
partnered to assist the Beyond Basic Learning Center in Hoboken with a for
$70,000. The funds will be used for renovation of the Center and for program
development.

EXPANSION IS ON THE MENU ... THANKS TO HCEDC!
The ownership of the Secaucus restaurant Cosi, have been awarded $50,000 for equipment from the Hudson County Economic Development Corporation (HCEDC) Small Business Micro Loan Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The restaurant will employ 30 people in its new Harmon Plaza area location. May 2009 Roundtable Meeting
The Hudson County Economic Development Corporation hosted a Roundtable Meeting on May 28, 2009 at the Secaucus Public Library and Business Resource Center. The meeting covered a variety of topics including Recovery Act Funds available through the SBA, Transportation solutions for Hudson County businesses and PSEG's Carbon Abatement/Small business Direct Install Program.

Hudson County Brownfields Program Recognized
The New Jersey Planning officials Award for Achievement in Planning 2008 was
presented by Terence Maguire - President of the New Jersey Planning
Officials to Elizabeth Spinelli for the Comprehensive Brownfields
Redvelopment Plan. The Plan was the document that resulted from the Smart
Fututres Planning Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
HCEDC Director Honored
HEDC Executive Director Elizabeth Spinelli honored with the Community Impact
Award from Crossing Boarders which is a charity that represents Displaced Homemakers of New Jersey. The organization is called Crossing Boarders because the Charity supports programs in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
