Hudson County Brownfields Program Recognized
The New Jersey Planning officials Award for Achievement in Planning 2008 was
presented by Terence Maguire - President of the New Jersey Planning
Officials to Elizabeth Spinelli for the Comprehensive Brownfields
Redvelopment Plan. The Plan was the document that resulted from the Smart
Fututres Planning Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
HCEDC Director Honored
HEDC Executive Director Elizabeth Spinelli honored with the Community Impact
Award from Crossing Boarders which is a charity that represents Displaced Homemakers of New Jersey. The organization is called Crossing Boarders because the Charity supports programs in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Meeting with American Planning Association
The Hudson County Economic Development Corporation with the American
Planning Association New Jersey Chapter and Linda Wills PP/AICP presented The Harrison Approach - Getting There From Here. The event was a combination of a tour of the redevelopment area in Harrison followed by a panel discussion. Browfields Grants Awarded
The distribution to the three Mayors of the Towns that were part
of the Comprehensive Brownfields Redevelopment Plan. This was the product of the Grant received from the New Jersey Department of
Community Affairs, and was coupled with a grant from the USEPA for the Areawide Approach. From
